Financial Analyst

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Build pro forma / financial model for use in evaluating investment in and performance of new Cafeteria Replacement accounts. Manage financial review and approval / “underwriting” process for new accounts.
  • Execute strategic financial initiatives to reduce expenses, optimize revenue, and improve ROI across Fooda’s business. Example projects include identification of savings opportunities in key expense categories (Travel, Capital Expense, etc.), improving the efficiency of reporting and optimization of retail pricing.
  • Own Finance’s efforts to thoroughly understand Café Replacement financial results through financial statement analysis and working directly with the Café team(s) to understand operations.  Use analysis, café operator feedback and management input to drive change and improvement in operations.
  • Work directly with executive team, market leaders, and department heads in support of the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes. Assemble executive and investor materials for review and presentation.
  • Assemble and analyze various reporting, presentations, etc. for investors, executives, and market leaders. Identify and implement improvements to utility and efficiency of reporting.  Dig into key financial trends and variances to plan, communicating underlying causes to management and suggesting opportunities for improvement.

What You Should Already Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Thorough understanding of core finance and accounting principles. Demonstrable academic curiosity and/or achievement in this area is a plus
  • Advanced MS Excel wizardry, including expert usage of data lookups, validation techniques and analysis debugging
  • 2 or more years of experience in corporate finance, consulting, investment banking / private equity or related field
  • Experience building financial models / forecasts
  • Pro-active self-starter with a history of seeing projects through to completion and managing assigned tasks with minimal supervisor intervention
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on accuracy and brevity
  • Experience with NetSuite and Tableau a plus but not required
